About Us

Wild imagination, tame practicality

We offer a wide range of skills and diverse professional experience. The word “we” here might be a bit of a stretch, since Raven’s Eye Design is basically a one-man studio-but that one man, Chad Bush, wears diverse hats with surprising elegance.

Chad Bush

Chad has been a communications professional for more than 25 years. He’s been a professional web designer for eight years, and has spent 11 years in professional graphic print design and prepress production. He honed his writing skills as a staff writer for the Arizona Capitol Times in Phoenix for three years, and has done freelance illustration work since the 1980s.

Chad’s boundless creative energy, masterful communication skills and unusual perspective enable him to create unique, dynamic imagery and text that help achieve any communication objective. He has a sharp eye for detail, and is obsessed about the clarity, effectiveness, and overall quality of his work.

Consultant and teacher

Since May 2004, Chad has taught web design at the University of Arizona. He revamped the curriculum for the Extended University’s webmaster certificate program to provide a cutting-edge education in standards-based web design. He teaches everything from hand-coding XHTML with CSS to image editing, Flash and usability. He also provides private business consultation.

An online version of Chad’s résumé is available here, and a print-quality Adobe Acrobat PDF file of the same resume is available here.

Bilingual musician and artist

Chad has lived in the heart of central Mexico-in Morelia, Michoacán-for more than a year, and he speaks, reads and writes Spanish fluently, although English is his native tongue. He has a deep, personal appreciation for and sensitivity to Mexican and Latino culture.

He also is a live performing musician and recording artist in his “spare” time. Chad passionately plays saxophone, wooden flutes, drums, synthesizers, guitar, and piano. He also operates a digital audio production studio employing Logic Pro 8.

His hobbies also include hiking and camping in the beautiful Sonoran desert, bicycling, dancing, surrealist painting, clowning and juggling. Chad is a founding member of ¡Cuar! ¡Cuar!, Simple Question and Clown Band, among other performance groups.
