Campfire Cycling
Bicycle camping outfitter and community
Launched June2019
The Challenge
Campfire Cycling originally was branded as Bike Shop Hub, an online bicycle supply shop with a warehouse in Tucson selling thousands of products. Its website was comprised of a poorly-functioning blend of custom shopping cart code. It needed to be completely rebuilt without disrupting sales and traffic flow. It also needed to be rebranded as the business pivoted to serve the growing niche of bicycle camping enthusiasts worldwide.
The Solution
I worked closely with the business owner to stabilize the original website, then rebuilt everything from scratch using a customized installation of WordPress with WooCommerce. I collaborated with Campfire Cycle’s graphic designer to incorporate fresh branding into the new website and crafted custom product displays around the specialized needs of the business.
We migrated all the e-commerce data to the new site, and I created custom tools to enable the business’s staff to continue updating every aspect of the site’s content with grace and ease.
The Result
The Campfire Cycling website features custom layouts on the home page, product category listings, products, blog posts and elsewhere. The navigation menu features easy-to-use product listings by category and brand, and collapses into an easy-to-use usable custom slide-in menu on mobile devices.
Each type of custom layout can be managed via simple controls on the back end. The site includes a lot of custom details including an auto-fill search bar, a customized checkout process, newsletter signup forms and more. Everything works equally well on all types of devices.
My e-commerce business has undergone a fundamental upheaval and rebirth over the past three years. Chad has played a crucial role in helping migrate our e-commerce systems to the WooCommerce platform. Chad has really gone above and beyond in understanding the evolving needs of our business, fine-tuning his approach along the way. More than just a WordPress consultant, Chad has stood by as our primary technology partner, leveraging WordPress to do so in a very cost effective way.
