Body Basics Health & Fitness
Family-owned personal fitness center
Launched June2019
The Challenge
Body Basics Health & Fitness had a WordPress website that was several years old and which didn’t serve the business as well as it could. Editing the various types of site content required managers to use a cumbersome, overly complex user interface. The site did not work as well as it needed to on mobile devices. An update was needed to streamline the way content was managed and add some new features.
The Solution
I rebuilt the website from scratch while retaining WordPress at its core. I kept the same basic branding and graphic design elements, but modernized and improved the way they were used throughout the new website. I worked closely with the business owners to add several new features: a video with a call to action on the home page, a newsletter signup with a free offer, a clearer main navigation menu, and improved newsletter system.
The Result
The Body Basics website now works as a powerful marketing tool to attract new members and deliver useful information to existing members clearly and easily. Important information like the hours of business and location are always available at a glance. The online newsletter features a custom archive system that puts the current issue front and center.
Client testimonials, an automated client spotlight section and an easy-to-use personal fitness questionnaire round out the custom features on this site, and managing all the various sections of content is easy due to custom-designed site management tools. The whole site works equally well on mobile devices including smartphones, tablets and computers.
I’m the owner of BodyBasics Health & Fitness, a personal training facility in NW Tucson helping people 55+ move better, feel better and live better. Recently, I commissioned Chad to completely revamp our website. He delivered an excellent product!

More importantly, he was always accessible as ideas came to mind, even to get on a Zoom call with me for nearly 90 minutes to hash out a multitude of revisions I had for him after the “rough draft” was completed. If you’re looking for a designer who is committed to seeing your vision become a reality, hire Chad!
