The Challenge

Western Sky Communications had a WordPress website cobbled together using prefabricated page-builder software. It was difficult to manage the content, it did not have a unique or cohesive design, and it lacked needed features.

The Solution

I worked closely with the business owner to create a custom installation of WordPress with a custom design tailored exactly to her needs. I developed a custom system to display her portfolio projects that’s easy to manage and update, along with all the other content on the site.

The Result

The Western Sky Communications website features a custom design from scratch that includes full-width hero images and easy-to-use cards to display projects and blog posts clearly. Everything is responsive and works equally well on all types of devices. A store built with WooCommerce sells books and prints of the owner’s photography, and the integrated blog and newsletter help her keep in touch with her audience.

A couple of days ago, I was in a meeting, and I was showing off my new site. What happened next was something I have never experienced before. My website got a round of applause!
